Legal & General’s Internal Audit team are seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to support the execution of our annual audit plan, while developing in-depth knowledge of Legal & General’s business and products. Based in the Hove office, you will be responsible for performing Insurance and Savings audits under the direction of Senior Audit Managers. The successful candidate will have financial services experience, life and general insurance and savings product knowledge would be welcome.

Deliver internal audit work on a variety of audit assignments as determined by the risk-based Audit Plan.

Produce high quality audit work that is delivered on time and complies with GIA methodology and quality standards.

Perform audits efficiently, and escalate any issues arising over the delivery of the audit opinion in a timely manner.

Maintain effective working relationships with audit stakeholders.

Contribute effectively to the audit team, and the continuous development and achievement of GIA’s vision to be recognised as a leading edge internal audit function.

Take personal responsibility for developing his/her own professional knowledge, skills and subject matter expertise.

Financial services experience, ideally knowledge of life and general  insurance and savings products

Audit experience (internal and / or external audit) or business experience of internal control

Demonstrates core auditing skills including both oral and written communications

Negotiation.

Energetic and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic and commitment to high quality work.

Contributes purposeful, constructive scrutiny and challenge through sound, independent judgement and common sense.

Has an organised approach to managing workload and meets deadlines

Builds good working relationships with all colleagues and stakeholders  including mid-tier management

Escalates and shares information appropriately

Displays tenacity and resilience in executing audits and resolving audit issues, while remaining objective

Demonstrates an understanding of key risk areas when performing an audit

Our view is that this role is suitable for agile working. This means we would consider a more flexible working arrangement, where your hours and work location are managed according to business, customer and personal needs. For this role, you would be based in Hove, but you could work in other Legal & General offices or at home, as necessary, provided this meets business needs.
