We are recruiting for a Regulatory and Capital Reporting Accountant    

The role supports the LGAS regulatory and capital reporting manager in the management, production and review of the LGAS pillar 3 reporting QRTs and other regulatory returns on a quarterly and annual basis. The role will also support the collection, analysis and reporting of LGAS capital information required to support the quarterly group reporting cycle as well as ad hoc projects/tasks.

This will include collection, management, and validation of data from different business areas and entities, resolution of issues, and production of LGAS single entity QRTs and narrative reports. In addition, this role will require interaction with the wider SII capital team and will also contribute to the development of LGAS /Group Regulatory and capital reporting processes.

 The role will be expected to participate in system and process improvements, helping to develop a final SII reporting solution that supports the end state accelerated SII timetable. Additionally, this role will be required to take on ad-hoc finance projects and initiatives as required. 

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Qualified accountant from a recognised accountancy body is preferable though we will also consider ACCA or ACA finalists (candidates who have just taken their last exams and are awaiting their results) with IFRS reporting experience and/ or auditing  experience (if the background is in one of the big 4 accounting firms with experience of auditing insurance companies).

Good understanding of Solvency II and other capital reporting metrics. Previous Solvency II reporting experience is an advantage.

Good understanding of existing IFRS requirements and ability to analyse and interpret other reporting frameworks.

This means we would consider a more flexible working arrangement, where your hours and work location are managed according to business, customer and personal needs’ For this role, you would be based in London, but you could work in other Legal and General offices or at home, as necessary, provided this meets business needs. Details of agile working will be discussed during the interview process.

Initially there will be weekly travel to our hove office.
