In this role you will ensure that promotional material provided to our customers is clear, accurate and balanced, so they can make an informed choice about our products and services.

To ensure that promotional material provided to our customers is clear, accurate and balanced, so they can make an informed choice about our products and services.

To provide a customer focussed, professional, creative and pragmatic communication and an online advertising guidance and approvals service, to ensure material is wholly compliant and meets all legal and regulatory requirements.

Provide approvals expertise to key stakeholders and help to develop new initiatives, working closely with Conduct and Operational Risk, appropriate marketing teams, other Business areas and Approvals Managers in respect of delivering a high-level advertising standards.

Develop and maintain a close and continuous working relationship with key stakeholders. In particular:

Provide training, support and guidance to originators, marketing teams and others directly involved in the customer communication processes both Online and Offline.

Maintain constructive dialogue with other approvals teams and Risk, focussing on identifying matters of common interest and / or concern and delivering appropriate solutions to manage the risk.

Focusing on Group’s policies and procedures to maximise business performance and efficiency.

Regulation:

Knowledge of regulatory framework including:

  • FCA handbook of principles, rules and guidance
  • Regulatory objectives and meanings of controlled function
  • How regulation protects consumers of financial services and maintain public confidence
  • Systems and ControlsSpecific rules and guidance relevant to the role including financial promotional guidance in respect of COBS, MCOBS, ICOBS key FCA financial promotions, and the Advertising Standards Authority.
  • Awareness of proposed changes to regulations or industry practise that would impact Legal & General’s financial promotions

Industry Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of our position within the industry.
  • ASA and FOS practices and policies.

Product & Processes:

  • High- Level understanding of L&G’s current and legacy range products within LGIR.
  • Awareness of end to end processes within LGIR, LGHF and PRT including:
    • Direct Sales
    • Intermediated Sales
    • New Business and underwriting
    • Existing Business
    • Customer Services
  • Awareness of all communications involved in the customer end to end journey for all retirement products.

Skills:

  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to use a variety of media to communicate information, through data analysis, presentations, written reports and graphs
  • Experience of numerical analysis
  • Excellent relationship management skills e.g. networking, influencing, negotiating.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience in Approvals (or similar environment)
