The Finance Manager Accountant will support the Reporting team in the management, design, delivery and implementation of statutory and regulatory reporting process improvements.

Projects & Change Management

  • Contribute on behalf of the reporting team to group, business and internal projects, ensuring requirements are understood and agreed, planned and implemented appropriately
  • Engage with FRC (Financial Reporting Council) Operational and Strategic Development team to provide financial reporting insight to projects, ensuring requirements for ledgers and reporting are thoroughly considered and incorporated into project plans.

Finance architecture analysis and improvement

  • Develop and model statutory and regulatory reporting processes, information flows and data structures, linking to business systems and data
  • Use best practice research and analysis techniques to contribute to the ongoing review and challenge of processes to establish efficiencies within the financial reporting team.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Work with key customers on reporting issues, including agreeing reporting requirements and deadlines, with effective communication and presentation of results
  • Assist with engagements with Group and Prudential Risk to ensure the delivery of financial results continues to meet needs and quality expectations.

Internal Relationship Management

  • Work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure deliverables are understood planned, and delivered by the financial reporting processes. Ensure that the team maintains their own relationships with relevant stakeholders and suppliers.

Delivery Management

  • Provide assurance of the completion of key deliverables, for the statutory reporting process for specific legal entities, as assigned by the Financial Reporting Manager
  • Enable the team, to deliver all required financial reporting, along with supporting analysis, meeting Group Finance and other customer requirements, including the co-ordination of inputs and timescales from all other teams involved, plus result commentary and disclosure preparation.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant essential

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience within a Financial Services environment, preferably with a life insurer

Knowledge/Skills

 

  • Experience in change management & financial reporting process improvement
  • The ability to communicate confidently with management reasonably complex business matters to financial and non-financial audiences
  • Detailed knowledge of current IFRS reporting requirements, working knowledge of upcoming standards and proposals
  • Good knowledge of requirements of PRA and FCA.
