Our market leading Group Protection team are currently looking to recruit a proven Pricing & Experience Actuary to develop and deliver pricing strategies, experience investigations and assumptions-setting & methodology to enable Group Protection to meet its business goals. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with senior stakeholders and would suit someone who is used to/or looking for exposure at a senior level. 

Pricing / Profitability:

You will develop and deliver pricing strategies, for new and existing products and features, that enable growth in market share, whilst maintaining required levels of profitability and return on capital, all in line with the Treating Customers Fairly policy.
Within this:

  • You will understand portfolio risk and profitability by varying segments
  • You will keep in touch with market and pricing science developments, to consider where new techniques may add value
  • You will ensure system, process and proposition developments are consistent with strategy.

Experience & Assumption setting: You will develop, interpret and manage regular demographic and financial experience investigations, feeding the results into pricing strategy and assumption setting for financial reporting exercises.

Risk: You will identify and document risks relating to the Group Protection existing portfolio andnew business, whilst monitoring and reporting on the risk profile in line with L&G risk
policy.

Data Integrity:You will implement monitoring and controls to ensure appropriate levels of policyand accounting data integrity for actuarial reporting. Seek improvements to data quality,
by contributing to system developments and by working with internal & external customers.

  • You will be a Qualified Actuary
  • You will have understanding of actuarial techniques for analysing experience
  • Knowledge of protection products and strong knowledge of group risk products
  • Appreciation of how assumption and pricing recommendations will impact core financial metrics
  • You will be able  to analyse, interpret data and present conclusions in a non-technical language
  • You will have good a commercial attitude and good interpersonal skills
  • You will be able to balance strategic goals with immediate priorities, setting clear targets to achieve progress against both
  • You will take ownership, deliver with drive & enthusiasm, deal with change in stride.
  • You will have previous experience of developing change or substantial business transformation would be advantageous
