As a Data Product Manager, you'll be the product owner for L&G’s Retirement Income Strategic Data project (targeted delivery Q1 2021) before supporting the transition into a new data operating model. You'll also serve as data lead on other Retirement Income projects. With plenty of scope to build a new team, you'll have the opportunity to shape this role into your own.

Be the product owner for the Retirement Income Strategic Data project:

  • Work with the support of the Project Manager and Business Analyst to manage the scope and priorities of the project
  • Engage with subject matter experts (SMEs) from the business to understand how the project should deliver commercial value

Build and run the ‘enduring team’ for data:

  • Collect and prioritise data-related business requirements in line with the division’s strategy and commercial goals
  • Oversee the delivery team to ensure that implementation is in line with the solutions proposition

Support the Retirement Income transformation agenda:

  • Be the Data SME for projects
  • Support projects to deliver changes to data in line with the Data Operating Model 

Support the development of and uphold a data culture that encourages behaviours including:

  • That people proactively seek to make data-enabled decisions where possible
  • Collaboration within and beyond Retirement Income to optimise the use of data. 

Maintain a strong business understanding and relationships:

  • Build a strong internal network, engaging relevant stakeholders to understand business requirements within different parts of the business
  • Proven experience in a software development/ systems development lifecycle delivery
  • Understanding of complexities surrounding data source control and mapping
  • Understanding of data modelling concepts in relation to data mapping
  • Experience of defining data quality rules, defining consistent names and definitions and enabling standardisation
  • Experience of establishing key indicators that measure adherence to documented data quality rules
  • Understanding of data requirements across a variety of business functions and requirements including customer service, pricing/actuarial, marketing
  • Experience of working with Annuities and other retirement products is desirable, but not essential!
