This is an exciting opportunity to join the L&G Procurement Team as we embark on our five year vision and transformation at L&G Home Finance in Solihull.

Working as part of the Group Procurement team you will be responsible for optimising Procurement’s influence on external spend. You’ll do this by developing effective stakeholder relationships which will have a direct impact not only on cost reduction and risk mitigation but also how we evolve the function and drive further value to our growing business.

 

The role is built around an agile approach and environment, and you’ll be working across a number of different business units and functions at L&G Home Finance and the wider L&G Group.

The role covers all categories of spend across the Group and provides direct support to the Home Finance and Financial Advice business units.

It is fast paced, exciting and challenging and positively influences the direction and growth plans for the business units we support. Utilising our Procurement toolsets and GEP Smart which we have invested in throughout 2020. You’ll be influencing the purchasing strategy, driving value, undertaking RFP’s/RFI’s, working closely with our suppliers, key stakeholders and customers. In addition there are Supplier Management duties and you’ll work with our SRM’s and Performance Managers across the business units.

Key to the role will be business partnering with multiple business units and positively influencing strategy and direction at all levels and driving best procurement practice. Experience in Supplier Management is beneficial, and we have a multitude of market leading systems and software to support our activities. We work regularly across a multitude of procurement categories (including IT) and will continue to build and develop effective stakeholder relationships with key decision-makers.

We also operate as trusted advisers that are seen to offer real expertise and add genuine value. Underlying all of the activity are the L&G Values and ensuring that we are treating customers fairly

Qualifications
MCIPS – (significant proven experience in a Corporate procurement environment will also be considered).

Specific Experience

  • You’ll need experience and evidence of proactively leading and managing supplier sourcing requirements and setting & delivering purchasing strategies, supplier selection, negotiation, agreeing cost and price models that demonstrate value creation.
  • Contractual/legal experience will be key and the ability to negotiate specific terms and requirements with suppliers.
  • Experience of successfully influencing senior business stakeholders and subject matter experts through effective engagement and articulation of procurement strategies.
  • Experience of working in a best practice procurement environment. Use of best practice sourcing and spend analytics tools.
