We are looking for a Property Programme Director to lead a strategic transformation programme that will transition employees in the Cardiff location to a new office location that provides a more productive environment and improved employee experience. 

We are looking for a Property Programme Director to lead a strategic transformation programme that will transition employees in the Cardiff location to a new office location that provides a more productive environment and improved employee experience.  The programme incorporates design and construction of new building including services and fit-out, transition of business services and employees into the new location, and exit from the existing location.

You will need to engage across all areas of the organisation and have the appropriate gravitas when engaging with Executive Directors and Senior Management, and will be responsible for the delivery and overall success of the programme and adding the highest possible value to the organisation.

You must also have a broad knowledge of programme management principles, leading commercial property programmes, a strategic mindset, and be able to lead and develop your management team.

  • Lead the end to end delivery of the programme of change, including defining what falls within and outside of the programme scope and objectives.
  • Clearly and thoroughly shape the scope of the programme by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, at all levels within the organisation, to define and achieve mutual understanding of the vision, scope, objectives and required outcomes for the programme
  • Initiate and set goals for the programme according to the strategic objectives of the organisation and develop end-to end plan for the programme involving stakeholders as appropriate, and be able to discuss risk areas and convey impacts and options
  • Plan the programme in sufficient detail to ensure integration of all activities, identification of dependencies, and understanding of critical paths and key milestones
  • Obtain approval of the plan through effective communication skills, ensuring thorough understanding of the plan, its implications on revenues, delivery dates, resources, and deliverables
  • Ensure a comprehensive budget is prepared, reflecting the plan, all resource requirements and capital expenditure
  • Define and execute a communication strategy to share achievements and promote success stories, hence being a driver for change in the culture of the company.
  • Direct and motivate the programme team to achieve the desired results, using matrix management where appropriate, and ensure effective communication is maintained throughout the duration of the programme.
  • Ensure effective management of third party suppliers/contractors delivering into the programme
  • Establish and manage the overall programme governance and reporting to Executive sponsors.

Qualifications:

  • PRINCE 2, AGILE and MSP or equivalents

Knowledge:

  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics, data analysis, reporting and budgeting
  • Working knowledge of MS office and programme management software (e.g. MS Project etc.)

Experience:

  • Background operating as a Senior Programme Manager / Programme Director with significant leadership experience demonstrating success in defining and driving large scale cross functional change programmes in complex organisations.
  • Track record in delivering Property & Construction programmes that include workplace transformation, and subsequent occupation

Leadership:

  • Assertive with vision, drive, diplomacy and the ability to make things happen in an environment of ambiguity, complexity and rapid change with multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Able to influence others in the absence of any direct authority with a highly collaborative style, thriving in team environments - ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with a range of individuals at all levels.
  • Operates with gravitas and credibility at an Executive level, partnering with a sponsor and uniting different stakeholders to lead the cross functional team to success.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills at all levels – able to translate complexity into straightforward and simple language.
  • Results orientated mind-set and able to evidence meeting significant goals, targets and deadlines throughout career.
  • Line management experience in developing, mentoring and managing highly skilled and ambitious team members.
