The role holder’s primary responsibility will be to support the Finance Director by leading the FP&A and Investment, Asset Charging and Treasury functions working closely with the executive team and colleagues in L&G Capital to contribute to capital and investment strategies and oversee investment activities and programmes, scrutinise on-going performance and make critical recommendations on the execution of the corporate strategy and project investments.

The role holder’s primary responsibility will be to support the Finance Director by leading the FP&A and Investment, Asset Charging and Treasury functions working closely with the executive team and colleagues in L&G Capital to contribute to capital and investment strategies and oversee investment activities and programmes, scrutinise on-going performance and make critical recommendations on the execution of the corporate strategy and project investments.

Principle responsibilities will include:

  • Support the FD, MD and LGC Capital in all debt and equity fundraising and contribute to the funding strategy. Preparation of board papers and investment papers as required and liaising with credit rating agencies, lenders, debt advisors, consultants etc
  • Manage the asset securitisation and treasury functions to ensure that funding levels are optimised and treasury and funding policies are complied with.
  • Lead the FP&A team, ensuring high quality analysis, planning and reporting. Own the financial models, and ensure they remain accurate and deliver the analytical capabilities a fast-moving business requires. Ensure all analysis provided to the board and investment committees is relevant and accurate.
  • Lead and manage the business planning process including the implementation of processes, procedures and systems to help support the preparation and monitoring of the business plan.
  • Oversee the valuation process of all development and completed assets, making recommendations of any opportunities and risks that the valuation analysis shows.
  • To prepare and maintain financial systems to be used for the appraisal of the division’s development schemes, in accordance with the development assumptions approved by the Board.
  • To provide support to the development and new Business teams with their scheme & project appraisals.
  • Provide input into the design of the business’s digital platform to ensure data is captured and reported efficiently and business processes are in place to ensure reporting is robust.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant or similar
  • Excellent academic background, with a deep numerical aptitude

Experience

  • Deep technical financial and commercial knowledge and experience in the residential housing industry
  • Specific affordable housing experience in a similar role would be highly beneficial.  
  • Leadership and management experience
  • Delivery focussed and ability to plan and execute projects across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong knowledge of different tax structures employed in real estate finance
