Assisting with the smooth transition of changes into the IT production environment with minimum disruption to the business and the realisation of business value. This is achieved by establishing and enforcing end to end service transition policy, processes and procedures as well as the day-to-day management of the relevant Service Acceptance Criteria, Forward Schedule of Change and Service Level Management for non-Production environments and maintenance of the IT Service Knowledge Base.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Work collaboratively across Product Line, Project, Test and Release Managers and Technology and Transformation delivery teams to promote awareness of technology transition and change management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance is appropriately evidenced and changes are effectively communicated to all stakeholders
  • Enforcing policy for accepting new, modified and retirement of IT Service Production changes.
  • Ensuring that effective controls around availability, service level, event, disaster recovery, testing, configuration, early life support, IT security and demand management are maintained
  • Ensure that all relevant operational changes are reviewed, impact assessed and approved prior to being transitioned to the Production environment. 
  • Ensure appropriate Service Level Management Agreements are in place and maintained around Pre-Production and lower environments to support both agile and phase gate product and project delivery
  • Helping to build and maintain the technology service knowledge base, including making available appropriate service documentation, CMDB records and Service Level Agreements to stakeholders, in order to improve understanding of the “as-is” services and evaluating impact of proposed changes
  • Maintain a performance reporting framework that can demonstrate the effectiveness of the BT&T Transition processes and identify any areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • ITIL Foundation Qualified is preferred

 

Skills/Experience:

  • ITIL, ISO/IEC20000, COBIT (Desirable)
  • Maintaining and managing Transition and Change Management processes and functionality alongside the ITSM tool set
  • Other key ITIL processes and support functions and how they relate to IT Change Management.
  • Working knowledge and experience of SLA\OLA development and management.
  • Strong organisational skills and good attention to detail
  • Ensuring IT Change Management confidence across all levels with technical and non-technical audiences
