The ServiceNow Developer works across ITSM, ITOM, SAM, IRM and ITBM as well as forming a distinct area of specialism in ITSM or ITOM. Focusing on understanding and delivering against requirements provided by other Developers, System Administrators and Product Owners they will be responsible for coding in all technical areas of the tool. Integrations as well as Portal functionality will frequently be a key focus of this role.

1.    Designs and creates high quality solutions, challenging unnecessary customisation and focusing on an approach that delivers flexibility to support changing business needs and meets business objectives without the need to redevelop ServiceNow.
2.    Focus on creating Automated Test Framework tests for all deliverables, working with the process owners to minimise the need for manual testing.
3.    Follows and contributes to coding standards, working with the Senior Developer to set them, ensuring that all work delivered is supportable by other team members who aren’t familiar with the work.
4.    Constantly looking for activities to automate, both within the team and across the processes embedded in the tool, reducing the repetitive work carried out by the team and associates. 
5.    Responsible for testing and reviewing upgrades provided by ServiceNow, looking at the impact of applying any updates to our instances. 
6.    Understanding of reporting capabilities in ServiceNow delivering dashboards and Performance Analytics reports across all levels of the business to guide decisions across the varied business units and functions of Legal and General. Responsible for creation of bespoke dashboards as well as configuring the underlying indicators and breakdowns.
7.    Frequent work expanding the Event Management capabilities of the team, working to integrate new data sources and to enable enrichment on those events and alerts for IT Ops.
8.    Ensures that Treating Customers Fairly is embedded within the processes and actions of the team.

Certified ServiceNow Application Developer
ITIL Foundation
General understanding of ITIL best practice
Strong working experience in IT Service Management Implementation
Fast prototyping of solutions in an agile environment
Working collaboratively with key stakeholders
Strong communication skills
