We are hiring an IT Procurement Analyst in our London offices to provide procurement support to the Senor IT Procurement Manager and the rest of the IT Procurement team in Legal & General. The role will contribute to the effective delivery of IT procurement to ensure Legal & General’s financial services regulatory obligations are adhered to, purchases are made in the context of the risk framework, commercials are clear and contracts are agreed appropriate to risk appetite. The role will also require procurement systems to be effectively used and maintained for purchase orders, document approvals, analysis and reporting.
- Conduct (or support) sourcing activities and negotiation for IT renewals, Statements of Work, new contracts and new supplier engagements ensuring relevant procurement control and governance requirements are met.
- Support the assurance that all contracting and commitment to spend is undertaken and governed in accordance with good practice and within the relevant regulatory requirements, risk appetite and governance controls
- Engage effectively with suppliers to ensure sourcing and contracting is carried out in accordance with regulatory, risk and business requirements and in a timely manner.
- Engage effectively with stakeholders to understand their business requirements so that these are appropriately reflected while recognising when to challenge.
- Actively seek ways to reduce cost and risk and improve performance and value
- Develop and apply IT-specific contract and commercial knowledge to new and existing supplier engagements
- Support the rest of the IT Procurement team on higher value or higher risk tenders/supplier engagements
- Support the rest of the IT Procurement team on purchase order management, document approval management, spend and contract analysis and reporting
- Usage and maintenance of procurement systems
Qualifications:
MCIPS, desirable (or studying towards)
Degree level, desirable
Knowledge:
Good knowledge of procurement processes
Good knowledge of contracting principles and associated legal frameworks
Understanding of the IT environment including software, cloud, hosting and IT services
Understanding of financial models
Understanding of regulatory environment and impacts on commercial IT agreements
Skills:
Commercial skills
Command of sourcing processes
Negotiation
Communication, verbal and written
Numeracy to a high level
Experience of sourcing systems and administrative practices
