We're looking for a CASS Oversight Consultant on a Fixed Term Contract until 31/12/20. You will support the CF10a & Senior CASS Oversight Consultant in ensuring and the CASS strategies for LGIM, both positive and negative assurance are embedded within the core operational areas.

The primary function of the team is to provide both compliance and risk services to ensure adherence of LGIM to the CASS rules as prescribed by the FCA. This provision of services is to include providing advice, guidance, challenge, and working with management to ensure CASS compliance with the regulatory requirements. The team delivers the services via a number of mechanisms, including:

Reporting and Governance

  • Review and challenge of relevant management information
  • Review of any FCA requirements including CMAR
  • Support production and sign off of the external auditors reasonable assurance reports and other CASS audit activity.

Regulatory Management

  • Support the delivery by the business areas of an effective CASS control infrastructure within LGIM UK entities.
  • Educate the business on changes to financial services regulation which may affect us.
  • Ensure effective awareness of regulations and oversight of regulatory change, ensuring compliant working practices. 

Risk Management

  • Provide appropriate support and challenge to ensure that senior managers within that division effectively identify and manage their operational risks.
  • Provide support and oversight ensuring that remedial action on any material breach, issue or trend is appropriate and timely.

Control Assurance activities.

  • Review the effectiveness of the Client Money and Client Assets control infrastructure within key suppliers and outsourcers of LGIM entities
  • Utilising a risk based approach undertake oversight activity and thematic work to assess standards of compliance and to ensure we meet the highest standards of customer outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Holder of or working towards an industry recognised qualification in relation to Financial Services regulation

Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of CASS regulations
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of FCA relevant regulation for unit trusts, investment products and pension products
  • Understanding of risk management processes, controls and governance frameworks
  • Effective organisational skills
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations

Experience:

  • Manager of operattional function is beneficial.
  • Risk management and/or operatong in a regulatory environment
  • Experience of MI and analysis (Desired)
  • Previous technical experience in financial services role is beneficial.
  • Good influencing and negotiation skills
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of staff
