Working with the Later Living leadership teams in Inspired Villages and Guild Living to formulate and deliver the strategic objectives and business strategy, ensuring the team are focussed on driving business performance and great customer outcomes.

The roleholder will ensure that the businesses operates efficiently, creating synergies, building robust platforms that afford sharing of best practice, systems, policies, frameworks and information where relevant and appropriate. 

Working with the Later Living leadership teams in Inspired Villages and Guild Living to formulate and deliver the strategic objectives and business strategy, ensuring the team are focussed on driving business performance and great customer outcomes.

The roleholder will ensure that the businesses operates efficiently, creating synergies, building robust platforms that afford sharing of best practice, systems, policies, frameworks and information where relevant and appropriate. 

Act as a point of contact between the L&G CEO of Later Living and other key stakeholders.

The role holder will collaborate closely with all heads of functions across L&G Capital.

STRATEGY: Assisting the CEO of Later Living with all strategy creation and execution.

BUSINESS PLANNING: Assist the CEO for Later Living with the annual business plan creation and tracking progress against key deliverables. Utilising the business plan to then drive exceptional performance from the later living businesses.

PIPELINE: Day to day lead on all land pipeline deal flow, working closely with IVG and the Guild to provide sufficient early challenge on behalf of L&G.

INTEGRATION OF ACQUISITIONS: Reviewing M&A possibilities and lead on the integration of any acquisition.

Investment Committee – formulate and present investment papers for approval to buy a site, change business plan or sell an investment.

CRITICAL CHALLENGE: Provide on-going critical challenge to Inspired and the Guild on all business matters.

APPROVALS, COMMITTEES AND REPORTING:

Ensure that the L&G Later Living team assess the business progress, track appropriate KPI’s and deliver effective reporting to ensure the CEO of Later Living and wider L&G make decisions within the defined governance arrangement.

REPORTING & MANAGEMENT INFORMATION:

Co-ordination, development, review and challenge of management information.

Co-ordination of all reporting requirements

SHARED PLATFORMS/SYNERGIES/BEST PRACTICE:

Ensure that the businesses operates efficiently, creating synergies,  building robust platforms that afford sharing of best practice, systems, policies, frameworks and information where relevant and appropriate. 

CHANGE:

Ensure that appropriate change governance structures and policies are in place across Later Living.

Accountability for ensuring the change plans are coordinated across Later Living.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Previous experience as an Investment Director of similar role
  • Experience of working later living sector /operational businesses
  • Later Living Valuations
  • Business planning
  • Financial control
  • Organisational Transformation
  • Project and Programme delivery
  • Back office and/or shared service functions
  • Disposals and Acquisition desirable
  • Start Ups experience desirable

Qualifications:

  • Degree (numerate) or equivalent.

Skills:

  • Proven leadership skills and excellent people management skills.
  • Gravitas and Board credibility to challenge and influence appropriately.
  • Ability to influence and present to senior stakeholders
  • Leadership of a team with operational accountability.
  • Must have a strong team ethic, be energetic, entrepreneurial, and be an enabler and problem solver.  
  • Highly Commercial
  • Capable of being highly effective in large corporate environment.
  • Decisive whilst working at a quick pace.
  • Numerate and competent with quantitative financial information.
