We are seeking a Finance Team Manager to join the Cofunds Business Unit – Cash, Custody and Client Money based in Witham.

To lead the team to ensure they are providing a first class service; analysing data and producing reconciliations, reports or impacts of change ensuring compliance with Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) client asset regulations (CASS 6, CASS 7, CASS 10 & COBS) and completing all processes within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA).

Accountabilities

  • Lead the team ensuring, where appropriate, they are working effectively with other teams across the business to deliver against all SLAs.
  • Manage the team to enable efficient and timely investigation resulting in resolution of unmatched items or issues with reports and changes; ensuring that all items are documented concisely.
  • Lead the team to analyse and then prepare reconciliations, reports or impacts of change, using knowledge and understanding of Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) rules, ensuring compliance with client asset regulations contained in CASS 6, 7, 10 and COBS.
  • Review/approve daily client funding calculations to ensure they are completed in line with approved processes and FCA regulations; mitigating the risk of a breach occurring and that there are sufficient funds to cover any payments.
  • To manage your team, where appropriate, in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, including the Partnership Agreement, so that the team’s business objectives are achieved consistently.
  • Ensure all material processes and policies are documented, approved and reviewed regularly ensuring compliance with all current FCA regulations and area policies.
  • Support your line manager to ensure that the appropriate MI, processes and controls are in place so that customers are treated fairly in line with Legal & General’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) policy.

 

Optional Qualifications:

  • IOC;
  • ACCA;
  • CIMA; or
  • A qualification relevant to your role (to be agreed with your line manager) for instance: PRINCE2, ISEB and AAT.

Knowledge:

  • Collective investment products including Individual Savings Account (ISA) and Unit Trusts
  • Experienced in the use of Excel spreadsheets and accounting systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of COBS and CASS 6, 7 & 10 rules.

Skills:

  • Work experience leading teams providing a reconciliation or analytical service.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead teams processing work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to prepare and present well structured written communications.
