​You will work with the General Insurance business and other parts of the L&G group as needed in order to improve the effectiveness of the business strategy as well as the efficiency by ensuring that suggestions for business change, both systems and process, are thoroughly and logically investigated, analysed & documented.

You will also ensure that solutions meet the business requirements and these are fully documented & detailed to allow the changes to be developed and implemented.

• To understand, assess and prioritise the business need for change by facilitating the collection of and then documenting the detailed business requirements, costs and benefits. 
• To investigate, analyse, document and present all potential solutions to meet the business requirements to ensure that the business fully understand the risks, issues, strengths, weakness, impact & benefit of each solution.  
• To create, develop and support detailed design specifications to facilitate process change, system development and testing of the agreed solution.  
• To assess and provide high level analysis, costs & benefits for allproject requests for submission with recommendations to the Insurance Change Committee.  
• To create, develop & maintain a strong working relationship with all areas of the business, through effective and appropriate communication of requirements, potential solutions, issues & risks, thus enabling strong negotiation and influence in the future with all levels of management & staff.  
• To assist the Project Manager to develop the business case by analysing the project costs and benefits and then facilitation of and reporting on the post project benefits review to ensure that the business benefit has been met.  
• To work with other Business Analysts to develop, agree and implement best practise approach to Business Analysis ensuring that the needs of all recipients of documentation, both format and level of content are met.  
• To coach and mentor the Junior Business Analysts to ensure that correct BA process & practise are followed  
• To review advice given & the proposed system design/changes, throughout the project lifecycle, to ensure that the customer has been treated fairly in the light of all the circumstances and information that is available

• Significant experience within the General Insurance Industry.
• Household experience is essential. Motor, Pet, Travel & ASU are also desired.
• Significant experience of analysis, both business processes and systems.
• The Ability to and experience of specifying business and systems requirements.
• The Ability to and experience of analysing & developing business cases.
• Certificated evidence of higher/further education. Preferably a degree.
• Strong negotiation skills to facilitate the best solution for L&GI, taking into account current GI & Group Strategy.
• Capable of carrying out process mapping and process re-engineering
• The ability to facilitate the collection of business requirements and to question and challenge proposals and solutions.
• The ability to produce high quality documentation, displaying a high degree of accuracy within all analysis undertaken.
• To be able to work as a member of a team but also to be self motivated, often working on own initiative.
