We are looking for an experienced Finance Data Architect to join our team in Hove.

To provide technical input into the design of finance data programs, data models and associated infrastructure used by the financial reporting and operational finance teams.

Provide system design and technical support by close involvement on all data aspects of finance or business projects to ensure appropriate and successful delivery that meets business and adheres to the data architecture principles.

 

Work alongside, and collaboratively with, other members of the Modelling & Finance Solutions team to ensure delivery of robust, flexible and scalable solutions to cope with the growing business demands.

Help develop and define the data architecture for all data systems and data models within the scope of Modelling and Finance Solutions and use comprehensive technical data knowledge to provide direction to the Modelling and Finance Solution development teams and customers to ensure the maintenance, definition and delivery of change to these data systems and processes is in accordance with the data architectural principles.

The role includes being involved in a number of strategic projects and providing support on small change projects.

Assist Finance Change Manager and Head of System Architecture to ensure all change meet the required standards.

Technical knowledge

Typically the jobholder will have knowledge in the following areas:

  • Insurance or financial industry
  • UK Life Insurance products
  • Finance systems and processes
  • Developing data solutions
  • Various insurance reporting metrics
  • All stages of the software development cycle
  • GDPR and other data regulations.

Skills and Experience

Typically at level 5, the job holder will have experience or skills in:

  • being a data analyst or data architect
  • analysing and solving problems
  • experienced with Business intelligence solutions
  • working with accountants and actuaries (desired not essential)
  • designing solutions to finance data problems
  • familiarity with all stages of the software development life-cycle
  • an outcome orientated focus with strategic thinking
  • stakeholder management and communication and stakeholder management skills

  • independent and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • confident, proactive and creative
  • high motivated with excellent analytical skills
