We are recruiting for a Senior Data Architect in our London offices

Define and evolve technology strategy and operating models allowing efficient acquisition and management of a single view of a customer, accessing it via a set of API, and deriving actionable insights from it. Ensure its alignment with high-level architecture principles and adherence to relevant IT Security and Information Protection policies

Champion data analytics self-servicing paradigm as a fundamental part of the digital workplace

Provide clarity for the target state vision for engineering teams and partners responsible for delivering the components of data infrastructure

Work with the users of data management and data analytics capabilities (e.g. data science teams) to understand their needs and help to make the best use of available technology

Establish best practice in organising data taxonomies and other information assets helping to discover and make use of enterprise data

Identify and act upon opportunities to bring along technology innovations that could enhance, accelerate, and de-risk the delivery of the capability, as well as empower its users to be more productive and efficient

Work within the wider L&G technology community to promote best practices in the use of the data infrastructure

Qualifications:

Degree level qualification or equivalent work experience

Knowledge:

Track record in architecting and delivering scalable data management and data analytics platforms to large enterprises using Big Data technology components and cloud infrastructures

Experience in delivering data initiatives in customer-facing information-intensive industries such as financial services, e-commerce, or telecom. Cross-industry experience would be a big plus

Good grasp of the variety of tools and methods used by data analysts to arrive to actionable insights

Understanding of European data protection legislation

Excellent communication skills and ability to make themselves clearly understood by non-technical audience
